Slaves of the Sultan and the Shipping Forecast
GalleryTo support the Friends of Grange Park appeal launch, (a charitable local community group attempting to raise £100,000 to build a new children’s playground in Grange Park, Old Coulsdon) TWC were asked to provide some entertainment. We reprised two elements from our earlier 2015 production, ‘Radio Days’, Richard Lloyd’s ‘Slaves of the Sultan’, (a spoof ‘jolly hockey-sticks’ drama about three daughters of the British Empire under threat from ‘Johnny Foreigner’ in darkest Zanzibar) and Les Barker’s somewhat surreal take on that BBC staple ‘The Shipping Forecast’.
