The Merry Ballad of Robin Hood
Panto returns to Coulsdon this Christmas with a bang, and a brand new, all original show!
In an all-new pantomime written by Sean Young, we finally discover the truth about the most famous outlaw in history, Robin Hood, as well as his arch-enemy the Sheriff of Nottingham and his true love, Maid Marian. Robin Hood is a man with ambition. He doesn’t want to be an outlaw living in a damp forest with a bunch of inebriated ‘Merry Men’. He wants more. So he brings in a PR guru to improve his image… The Sheriff of Nottingham is a man with problems. Not only is there an outlaw stealing all his taxes, the King’s just dumped his irritating daughter on him while he goes off to enjoy himself on the Crusades. Not only her, but her Lady in Waiting, whom the Sheriff suspects is no lady at all… With fewer arrows and more custard pies, girls dressed as boys, a man dressed as a woman and more strolling minstrels than you can shake a quarterstaff at, this comic re-telling of the legend ‘bardly’ goes where no panto has gone before…
