Here we are in strange and disturbing times. But why would we let a rampant global pandemic completely squash our creativity?
We decided to produce something to give our friends and supporters something to help brighten these days just a little.
The result: a small DIY project which hasn’t involved any contact whatsoever – the TWC Lockdown Shakespeare.
We invited our actors to stretch their creative legs, by filming a favourite piece of Shakespeare. In their houses, in their back gardens – wherever. Just using the camera on their phone. Any props or costume they happened to have lying around, strictly optional.
We’ve taken a selection of these clips and put them together into three short films, each around 10-12 minutes long.
There are some well-known pieces, and some not so well known. They’re from the comedies, the tragedies and the histories. The choice and interpretation of each piece was left entirely up to the individual. It’s a quick, life-affirming splash of Shakespearean goodness. Made in Coulsdon.
We really hope you enjoy them. Here they are. Please click on the link and it should take you straight there:
